What makes you think they wouldn't be competing if the Olympics are changed to another venue if Bejing doesn't behave?

well, first, I don't want to see political boycotts, because this is just a sports event.

I tend to rely on this person's opinion more than yours.


oh ... don't rely on my opinion. I'm here because I'm giving you the mainland Chinese perspective. So you don't have to make a wild guess about Chinese politics. I think it is THE unknown threat that makes you worried. I just say what I see, because I may see something totally different than you do. My perspective could be different though. Who knows ....

But personally, I have no problem holding them in Bejing. But I will if there isn't significant improvement in the political situation there, or if we find more US citizens or nationals being kidnapped on trumped up charges with no access to US counsulate personnel (as per international law).
