They knew that a century or 10 ago. Knowing why is interesting. They can add that the prescription for a long, healthy physical life is to keep mind and body as active as possible. However, Winn's Theorem is that it's not activity in itself, so much as the challenge of the external world which is desirable. A running wheel isn't as good as a game with physical and mental challenge. A running wheel is a road to nowhere. The best challenge is a physical and mental challenge which is actually purposeful to enhance survival. That's why gymnasiums are poorly attended after an initial bout of enthusiasm. So, we need CDMA linked into our cochlear and with transduceers of our vocal chord and tongue and lip nerves [to pick up incipient speech whether we make a sound or not] and with a 3D retina scan. That will free us to be mobile, as we are designed to be. Then we can live a 3D life instead of a cubicle life. We could read, talk, listen and write [using speech to text input] while on the move. There would be no need to be in one place. We could walk and listen to a CDG presentation on data in cdma2000. We could stop to see some slides being scanned into our retina; or keep walking if the 3D surroundings were simply navigated while concentrating on the images - such as walking on a beach. We already multitask like that - checking the speedometer while we drive along a freeway, or taking a look at the view if the traffic is light. Going for a walk with somebody while chatting and looking for mushrooms is a nice way to live. With those built-in gadgets, it'll be easy. The other person or people wouldn't need to be there. Picking mushrooms, talking and listening could all happen simultaneously. A mechanic could keep working on a car while chatting to his wife who might be visiting a sister in another country. [Despite the feminism stuff, mechanics are men - women don't like to get icky]. Mqurice
