Dan3 RE..Over and over again, in the various categories reviewed, spoiled ballots for Bush were accepted, where spoiled ballots for Gore were rejected. A double standard was applied where a flawed ballot for Bush was accepted while a flawed ballot for Gore was rejected.<<<<<<<<

Amazing isn't it. Here you have a guy, you dems. consider stupid; and once again we have evidence you dems were completely outwitted, and outlawyered, even though you had Daley (son of one of the crookedest politicians ever), thousands of lawyers trying to save their millions in donations and bribes; and Jessie all running around Fl. trying to start a riot. Who is the incompetent here?

For example, voters from Republican counties were permitted to vote both regular and absentee in a number of cases, while all such Democratic votes were rejected.

Same voter, same signature, etc. OK'd for Bush counties and rejected for Gore counties.

A formal, systematic, statewide program was put in place by Republican government workers and party officials to accomplish these results.

It's really something - Bush lost and is President through fraud.

Dan, that's exactly right. I knew it was fraud when they showed the counting errors county by county from the first vote count. One way or another FL was going to make sure a favorite son got elected.

Its why the Supreme Ct. jumped in so quickly and were very partisan and definitive in their decision. And then that idiot spokesman from the White House says all but the very partisan have moved on....right.

In the meantime, Bush is off to Europe but this time he's sticking just to England. Those English names are so much easier to remember and to pronounce and to spell. ;~))

EDIT.Thanks for the clarification re the article. I should have gone directly to the Times instead of relying on AOL. The AOL news service tends to be conservative in their views.

The obviousness of the fraud committed (where the state board applied far more stringent standards to votes from democratic counties than from republican counties) is dramatic.

Fraud requires proof of criminal intent. It is clear that voters on both sides were allowed to vote when they shouldn't have been. Further, it is clear that votes on both sides were not counted when they should have been. But there is NO WAY anyone can show criminal intent on either side, OTHER THAN perhaps Gore's challenging of military ballots. So why not get over it? The better man is in office.

Statements like this only show your ignorance.

While we'll never know who was 50 votes ahead when it was over (the reviews that have been done can only be described as inconclusive), it doesn't matter. There was no clear indication of fraud, on either side, and to show fraud you have to prove criminal intent and I doubt anyone can do that on either side.

But what does matter is there was essentially a tie. Period. 50 votes one way or the other is immaterial and does not change the fact that was a tie.

Given there was a tie, the Courts made their determination, a proper one, and that's that. Had the Supreme Court not ruled the way it did those of us who saw Gore as an election theif would have been just as outraged as you are now.

I think people really saw Gore for what he was, this person who would literally DO ANYTHING to win the presidency. It was clear to thinking people he was crooked, and certainly we all knew Daley's family history.

Just be glad it is over and the better man won. Imagine what a mess we'd be in now if Gore had won. Instead of the strong, competent leadership we have now we would have had four more years of lying, cheating, stealing, and ... well, you know the rest....
