If you are ever in London, there is a brewery called Green King that make Abbott Ale that I can recommend. As everywhere though, it's best to go somewhere where it's been sold in quantity, very few beers sit well in the delivery lines.

I tried to look up some real beer web pages here in the UK, but they are either poor quality or actually corrupt. They will not compete with the likes of Budweiser with kind of attitude.

I bought a bottle of bud yesterday, just to see what the euro version was like. It's 5.0% by vol. and unbelievably bland like bud is in the USA, but as far as I can tell from buds extensive web site brewed correctly. The length of the brew would normally be extended to get that kind of alcohol %. They use rice as one of the ingredients, and they must go all out to find hops that have such a mild taste. I remember the USA adverts talk about lack of "after taste" in their beer. The loonies took over the asylum long ago. My god, how they have gone down hill <nfg>

I never joined CAMRA (UK campaign for real Ale) I will do today. Here is a list of the independent breweries. They can disappear over night though, and I've heard that microbreweries in the USA have a tough time of it too.
