Kilroy Realty Corp. (NYSE:KRC - news) managed to escape relatively unscathed when one of its top five tenants, online toy store eToys Inc. , filed for bankruptcy in March.

``They got letters of credit that would basically cover two years worth of lost rent, plus the cost to release the space and all of that proved to be extremely prudent on their part,'' said Lou Taylor, REIT analyst at Deutsche Banc Alex. Brown. ''The REITs are run by experienced real estate owners and managers and they've been through this before. They know the importance of making sure their buildings are full of tenants that can pay rent all the time.''


I wonder who are the major lenders who had provided this type of LCs stated above? SIVB? WFC?
