Jerome, I would buy him a beer for sure. Two beers in fact, one for being right during the past 30 years, and one for this period. One has to respect that track record, if that is accurate. I don't know of anyone who has been able to forecast correctly for even the past six months. That record is what interests me the most about this guy.

John

Jerome,
Whether Cass is right or wrong it is refreshing to view the world/market through the eyes of a futurist rather than some frenetic day trader. As with most things the answers lie somewhere in between. And even Cass has his caveats--for instance,if there is a war all bets are off.
Actually his analysis of the Presidential elections as a cause at least in the severity of the current decline was something I had thought of and mentioned back then. Bush presidency is still a concern to me. Whether intended or not, the cornerstone of Bush 11 seems to be "benign neglect" for a whole host of issues. Benign neglect doesnt play well on Main Street even though on certain issues i might agree with it. mike
