I couldn't give a blanket agree or disagree. While I like the idea of arms reductions, I'm not especially fond of unilateral reductions; it takes a stack of poker chips off the table.

Strategic arms green time is tricky. I know what they mean by "hair trigger" [though that's not a phrase I would use]; but I don't know what the alternative is, it's not in the story and shouldn't be. So it's hard to judge on that one. In Bush's position, it's better to lean towards the military opinion.

I just listened to Rumsfeld testify before Congress on the B1 and a few other topics. I didn't think he came across well.

Here's a couple of pieces on the B1 decision/proposal he made earlier and now has to revisit. It's not a good thing when SECDEF has to revisit a decision..
