Mark,<<<. What will happen with INTC tomorrow when the earnings are announced?>>>

The guidance is for 10 cents in earnings. It should have been for 8.5 cents, but Andy B. will come in barely at guidance in earnings, but revenues will be below guidance. Of course there will be a lot of explaining to do at the cc.

Initially, the market will rally after hours, but as cc approaches, Drew Peck and Joe Osha will be seen spending a lot of time on their cell phones and coincidentally, after hours trading will see heavy selling.

Andy B. will of course try to save the day by pointing to all the conservative measures he uses to close the books, telling one and all, that Intel is fiscally sound using very pure accounting methods. Many will be impressed and the market will rally a little bit in the late after hours.

But overnight, Osha, Peck, Dan, Pete, GVTucker and others will go into overdrive and point out all the blemishes (inventory, other category, declining margins, etc).

The narket will open the following morning mixed, Intel will be down $2.50 and then start to recover closing down $1.45.

Stories will abound from portfolio managers heavily into tech, they see light at the end of the tunnel, seasonal increases in the 2H, and yes, Virginia, there is a Santa Claus.
