"IMO there should be a limit of posts permitted"

There is the limit already, in S.I. "Terms of Use":

"g) Posting improper or off-topic messages or posting more than twenty messages in six hours."

siliconinvestor.com

I think the violation of 20/6 rule must be automatically
punished by 24 hours suspension.

"While these posts usually doesn't contain insults, they don't contain valuable information either."

Why "usually"? I think every post from Paul and Yousef
is an open intent to insult and to inflict
emotional distress for AMD investors.

Andreas, Mani seems to be AWOL.

I have received no response from either his yahoo addresses or PM.

Message 16073699

I think this is now an un-moderated thread.

Any volunteers to start a new one?

Re: Thread Moderation or lack thereof

I agree that the noise on the thread has gotten a little excessive lately but if more people would IGNORE the folks they feel are not offering information rather than replying and creating even more noise... However, this is not something that Mani typically responds to unless the OT is really out of hand. The rules of the thread call for requests by PM to Mani for specific votes - unless Mani decides otherwise <g>.

WRT replacing Mani, I think we should give him a little longer to show up though it might be prudent to try and contact SI Admin about installing a replacement. We should ask for volunteeers and in the unlikely event there is more than one there should be a simple, public vote by people who have posted to the thread. Nothing against the lurkers, members or not, but I would just not want to have a situation where we get an influx of folks to manipulate the balloting.

It would be my personal preference that any new moderator be a long-standing, active member of the thread. I would also rather not see a new thread formed merely to provide a replacement for our quiet moderator - how will our post count ever cross-over Intel [again]? <g>

Regards,
