Neoconservatives have become too diverse a group, and argue too much among themselves, to characterize in so pat a fashion. However, let's face it, a "50s liberal" is, in todays context, pretty much a conservative. By the way, few neoconservatives would claim to be Jeffersonian, per se. Most are Hamiltonian. That is, in fact, a conservative position, too........
