When it all boils down to it, my problem is is that I'm spending 1k per month on a 2brm nice apartment. I estimated that I would be paying around 3k in bills, payments, ect. if I purchased the home that I want. With the 2k I'm not spending I'm going to go to China, went to Brazil last year, I have set up a good college fund for the kids I don't have yet, paid off the notes on my cars, paid off 100% of credit card debt, paid off all of my and my wife's student loans, set up a balanced portfolio ect, ect ect.

The houses that are being sold in the 300-350k range nearby were selling for 175-225 three years ago. So, at the very least, a large chunk of the population here is sitting on 100k-150k in recent profits which is what I would whittle at as the days go by.
