There are news stories the media sits on... among the most famous were the women (including Marilyn Monroe) who were traipsing into and out of Jack Kennedy's White House.

Sometimes the media sits on major angles or evidence for days or weeks... sometimes it only comes out decades later, like the information that FDR knew all about the planned attack on Pearl Harbor.
