15:58 ET Nasdaq Composite : -- Technical -- Index working to close above previously identified gap support at 2031. Today's activity is less than encouraging on a near-term basis as the Nasdaq is set to close near, if not at, its worst levels of the day. Minor silver lining is the light total volume traded which looks as if it will just clear the 1.4 billion mark. Watch for Novellus Systems' (NVLS -7.3% on above average volume) second quarter earnings report to set the tone for the late session.
