Jim it looks like you were dead on about the stock prices needing to consolidate more before we should be buying. I unloaded some of my positions last week when we got a little bump up on Thursday. I'm wondering if we are not going to revisit the April lows on both the SOX and Nasdaq now. If anyone wants to trade off a temporary bottom it might come for stocks in the group tomorrow morning but I would not remain in long IMHO. A downward open on the SOX to around 538 might provide some impetus to buy for a short term trade. AMAT related article:

8:05AM ABN Cuts Semi Equip : ABN AMRO is reducing its outlook for semi equipment orders in 2002 from growth above 19% trend to growth which could be limited to single digits; downgrading following stocks to ADD from Buy as a result: AMAT, CYMI, KLAC, LRCX, and NVLS.
