UF - Ok, this is very simple.

I sense that very few people posting to this thread (myself included and yourself included) completely understand and appreciate the dichotomy between the performance of a company and its stock price.

You state in rebuttal that in such a sensing I have misjudged the intelligence of the individuals posting to this thread. Which is to say that the individuals who post here (which set presumably includes you) do understand and appreciate this dichotomy in full.

If I can identify any one person who does not appreciate or understand the relationship between stock price and company performance... well then I have not misjudged the thread.

How well do you really think you understand and appreciate this dichotomy? Fully enough to explain it to me? If so, I would sincerely (no giggling, smilies or sarcarsm) like to know your viewpoint, because it is such a complex and fascinating relationship. I am also positive that at least one other person would like to hear it too. So any effort you might expend putting me in my rightly deserved place would not be wasted at all. You would probably end up with a cool post too, because a lot of people would like to appreciate this dichotomy in full.

But if you can't, well then I rest my case.

Of course, you may elect the third option of ceding the field of honor. But I would be disappointed.

I do await your reply. Any humiliation I might attract would be worth the education.

John.
