He doesn't need to be just an associate minister -- he can be a fully ordained minister of the ULC for free.

ulc.org

I once thought about doing that for a bit of a lark -- for $20 I could be called the Rev. Dr. just like MLK and Jesse and many others. Have held back, but may do it some day after all. So you now call me "$20 short of Rev. Dr. Chris."

ULC ordination doesn't require much specific belief. "We believe everyone is already a member of the church and is just not aware of it as yet. The Universal Life Church will ordain anyone that asks without question of faith, for life, without a fee.... The church has two tenets: the absolute right of freedom of religion and to do that which is right. Anything else within the law is allowed. .... Each person in the ULC is free to follow any path as long as it does not infringe on the rights of others. "

Heck, X could probably qualify as a ULC minister. Scary thought!

SR couldn't, though. Whew.
