Half baked board opinions on this and other topics such as the amount of DOS dependent code in non-consumer Windows editions are worth exactly what you pay for them... nothing.

Don't spread your FUD here. Nobody said anything about DOS in "non-consumer Windows editions."

Hi, Keitsha. I didn't know that you can install Windows without using drive letters like "C:" in "C:\WINNT". I haven't seen any computer that didn't use drive letters.

The drive letters were only mentioned as an example of one very old thing in Windows, that many applications still depend on, and I know for sure, that there are plenty of Windows apps, that wouldn't work on a Windows system without drive letters.

Lars.

Btw: It's very nice to name it "IETF CIFS", it really sounds like some cross-platform standard, but please remember, that CIFS is very much a Microsoft thing.
