I trust this thread or a similar one will note the passing of QCOM's dominant position in say 2027 or 2033 etc.

I don't want to get into a QCOM discussion, because my skepticism there has met with some (understandable) annoyance. But 2027 to 2033 is an extremely aggressive brick wall date for any Gorilla. The fact that patents don't last that long may or may not complicate matters further, I don't know.

The fact that Dr. J will be 100 years old in 2033 certainly complicates matters.

Succession plans are hard. Moore-->Grove worked out, but IBM has had its share of bad CEO's lately, and the jury is very much out on Barrett and Ballmer. GE's long string of great CEO's is a rarity.
