I had a short experience taking care of my aunt in Hong Kong before she was moved to California with her daughter. Yes, the job was difficult. Time for reflection again. My aunt was a Russian Swede lady married to my father’s elder brother. My uncle was at one time the sole legal council for all of China’s (PRC) interests in Hong Kong, and had one bank account for each PRC company he represented, as it was easier on the accounting staff to keep track of the retainers. The uncle had everything: house, boat, car, prestige, power, and a bunch of real estate next to a bunch of oceans. Two sayings of my aunt stuck in my mind. On her 88th birthday, she said “Jay, the last ten years went by really quickly”. On her 92nd birthday, when I asked what she wanted for present, she said “not another thing, because it all has to be given away at the end”. My mom just turned 70 but is in very good health. She was able to climb to the top of the Yosemite trail (the one rated “hard”) with my wife and I a few years back, and she was able to ride elephant through the Thailand jungle a few months ago. She and her sister are now determined to enjoy themselves to the fullest by spending time in different cities around the world. I am thankful for my blessings. <<I'm in NY [state]>> Where about. I remember Ithaca well and am tempted to take time out to do my 20th year college visitation. My wife also went to Cornell for undergraduate studies, but a dozen years later than I. The last twenty years flashed by pretty quickly. The really frightening thing is one ex-college lady friend’s daughter just graduated from Cornell, and here I am, still playing computer games. <<$145,000 out for taxes, teeth [and a little whatnot]>> I hope you are getting your taxes worth, or that’s a bit of teeth, or that’s a lot of whatnots. <<I would be at an all time high in spite of this market … <<BASI, EEC, CRYP, POWL, USEY>> I think I will put these on my watch list and study the method to your madness. I will tell you if I short these babies or if I buy them. <<understand that I often speak with tongue in cheek>> I know and appreciate same. <<I have opinions and must act on'em>> We can only do what we can do, and must do what we feel obliged to, else no point playing. Chugs, Jay
