Industrial Production Slumps Again

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The slumping manufacturing sector led overall U.S. industrial production lower in June, marking the ninth straight month that output at the nation's factories, utilities and mines has fallen, according to a Federal Reserve report released on Tuesday.

The central bank said overall output slipped by 0.7 percent in June, while manufacturing production, which comprises the largest portion of the overall data, dropped 0.8 percent. The June decline in total production was the ninth straight monthly fall, the longest stretch of negative readings since 1982...>>
