You're making a statement that implies that 1st amendment guarantees that the legislative process must be unhealthy. Do you want to do that?
You're making a statement that it should be illegal for the owner of a business to hire a lawyer to go up on Capitol Hill to protect his interests. Do you want to do that?
Suppose I work in that man's plant. He signs the check that pays my rent and feeds my kids. He should not be allowed to try to protect my family?

Do you think that we would be afforded the same amount of time [access] or consideration that the NRA would get? [I'll be a bit surprised if you say Unequivically, yes].
If you represented an organization as large as NRA? Quite possibly. Maybe more from some legislators.

If not, would my 1st amendment rights be infringed by being denied access?
There are 24 hours in a day, 7 days in a week. Sleeping and personal considerations need some time. Actually doing things instead of listening to people BS you also needs some time. The remaining time is limited and is going to have to be doled out.
Yeah, NRA gets time. Do you think NEA, AARP, Common Cause, and Sierra Club are ignored? The evidence says otherwise.
The Founders explicitly considered that the government would be buffeted by competing interests. They planned it that way. They believed it would work out best for all if that were true.

Should the interests tugging at legislators be ONLY from left of center? Is that what you consider best?

Is quid pro quo for legislation a first amendment protected principle?
If that is literally true, you've got a case for bribery, and there are remedies for that.

Not in secret from the vested interests; in secret with the vested interests.
You mean like Hillary hiding out with left advocates and representatives of left-wing groups to draft her health bill?
