It would take a total washout of gold prices again for their stock prices to turn greatly lower.

Pretty much agree with your stock market outlook. Unfortunately the gold complex too seems headed for another washout before a major advance can get underway. Lease rates continue to plunge -- a rather bearish development IMHO. And the gold stocks are not acting particularly well in relation to bullion.

Thje most bullish thing the gold complex has in its favor now is the increasing pessimism of GATA's Bill Murphy. He has been a good contrary indicator for some time.
