Towle/Fornes/Cohen ... recap as I see it ....... Forners does the murder in 87 and goes to Towle in 89 as the not guilty pair are being sentenced and is told to confess IF he could ... evidently he could NOT so he consults Cohen, admits guilt and is advised to keep quiet ... and THEN he goes to court and tells the tale to one defendant's lawyer .... in 97 Fornes dies .. and at that point, Towle, who MUST have been laboring under some apprehension as to the applicability of confessional sanctity potential seeks out the two innocent and incorrectly sentenced defendants ... and obtains his "freedom" to speak out granted by the ArchDiocese .. and has his story corroborated by the Legal Aid lawyer, Cohen ... I have no trouble seeing the wheels of justice are grinding verrrrrrry slowly in this instance .... but suspect that the original trial was in NY State court and this new situation is happening in Fed court ... vast difference ... and the situation could've/should've been brought to the light of day long before now ... at least shortly after Fornes death in 97 .... ==================================================== so here are MY verdicts ... Fornes was guilty of being a coward UNTIL his buddies were convicted and has NOW been judged by a higher court than NY State or Federal court and we don't know THAT verdict ... Towle is guilty ----- of horrible judgement Cohen is not guilty ----- operated under his sworn duty the unnamed lawyer of the defendant is guilty ---- of being incompetent Chin will reverse the sentence of the non guilty defendants
