Actually, I think the global warming debate in US politics is already over. Anyone trying to pump global warming in 2002 will tar himself as an anti-humanity enviro-whacko and lose votes anywhere but in New England. The energy debate is also fading. Bush did the one and only thing government can do: resist the temporary public fever to cannibalize the energy producers by dictating shortage-enhancing prices at the point of a gun. Now those producers are proceeding to do what they are designed to do-produce energy...
