This will be a nuclear bomb for semis if Intel doesn't follow with their cap-ex commitment.

Intel (INTC) 28.81 -0.32: -- Update -- There has been lots of trading floor talk today about Intel's capex guidance this afternoon, with some rumors focussing on a supposed call from Banc of America Securities; we're now hearing from sources at B of A that they are stating that their Intel analyst Mark Fitzgerald is not going on CNBC to talk about capex today (as had been rumored), is not forecasting 2002 capex, and is only saying that he continues to believe that Intel will reaffirm 2001 capex guidance of $7.5 bln.
