I have seen your numbers regarding the better architectural performance scaling of P4 with frequency than the Athlon. Have you confirmed those results using data other than what you used? In your case, I am concerned that you are making an assertion based on data that was collected for some other purpose. It definitely indicates a trend but I would like to know if there is any architectural reason that P4 should scale better with frequency than Athlon? For all I know P4 could choke at 2 GHz just the way Athlon seems to choke at 1.4. I'll reconfirm the results as new data becomes available. I've seen some similar analyses that say the same thing, however.
