Thought you'd enjoy this, ROFL: JDS Uniphase (JDSU) 10.36 -0.25: Trading floor buzz that company will take a huge goodwill writedown this quarter; the source of this rumor is easier than most to track down: it came from the company; during their Mar qtr conference call, the company discussed the possibility of a $40 bln goodwill writedown related to past acquisitions (SDLI, ETEK), but that it was unsure of the accounting issues created by a writedown that was larger than its market cap. -dave
