The more I think about this Comcast offer the more I think that it in fact might be a positive for ATHM. First off the merged entity can't simply blow off the deal ATHM has with T, second, while it makes sense to run AOL as well on an open access platform it would be far better to run them as a premium channel than as an ISP. If Comcast is acting coy with ATHM it is probably simply as a bargaining chip with T. It would be silly for them to drop ATHM in favor of AOL simply because it only answers half the equation, the content half, they'd still have to run the network portion.

80k per hour not me, I have only added 2k in the last month.

JDS Uniphase (JDSU) 10.36 -0.25: Trading floor buzz that company will take a huge goodwill writedown this quarter; the source of this rumor is easier than most to track down: it came from the company; during their Mar qtr conference call, the company discussed the possibility of a $40 bln goodwill writedown related to past acquisitions (SDLI, ETEK), but that it was unsure of the accounting issues created by a writedown that was larger than its market cap.

JDSU may want to ask the CFO at ATHM this question <:}
