It is difficult using even-numbered filters in
both Matlab and in simple system simulations.

One believes on loses that phase linearity by half a
sample, too difficult for a first grader.

Ilmarinen

If I remember correctly Matlab couldn't even handle
even length Remez filters, additionally the bessel
functions and the grid were so lousily implemented that the
otherwise extremely robust system didn't even converge..
for 128 tap filters...

(minor, old advice, one need to double the iterative
loops for the bessel function, also quadruple the
the density of the grid, use double floating
point, and additionally safeguard for the
added accuracy which the then $60 Cyrix math processor
provided, which turned out to crash because it wasn't
as inaccurate as the Intel one, for $500)

Btw, the best margin ever on any piece of consumer
sillycone, at least if considering volume.
