Easily. I don't pretend to know the mind or purposes of God. As a parent, I know I sometimes act in ways which I believe to be in my children's best interests, but which they at the time think are cruel or awful. Sometimes as they mature they see why I did what I did; sometimes not. Your issue is that you want to understand why God does what he/she/it does, and want to judge God (even while not believing in h/s/i). I feel no need to judge. Therefore I'm not upset by whatever God chooses to do or not do.
