John
if it really does not matter so how come intel moves the investment gains in and out of the formula depending on how the result would look. So is it then 3 cents or 10 cents?

John, "From the perspective of the average investor, or average analyst for that matter, it doesn't seem to matter which bucket the profits or revenue come from."

Really? If you write off IAG expenses into COMM or
other businesses, would not IAG look much better as
a business, with whopping 47% margins? What an
"average" analyst would say if the real number is
30 or 25%, when they used to see 55%?
Don't you think that a $2 expense for each
$1 of sales is a little too sloppy for any business?
And I vaguely remember some morons here were
very excited about how "healthy"
the "core business" still is, and Intel is the lowest
cost producer, right? And I was ridiculed for
being in disagreement?

"I don't see the motivation." Too bad. I see. And
it works. Sorry.

P.S. Thread, sorry for Engel-speak.
