Mince some catnip over the herring supplement. Any cat who could ignore both is either dead, or not a cat. Could be a mongoose, or some such, cleverly disguised so as to do mischievious deeds.

I once knew a couple who had a pet ferret. It had a curious habit of "ferreting" its way into certain bedroom dresser drawers, confiscating and hiding certain battery-operated cylindrical objects, in the living room couch. The objects would sometimes fall out of the couch, at the most inopportune moments—when in-laws or other company were visiting. They no longer have a pet ferret.
