Hi, Clark, good to hear from you!!

1. more accuracy when it works, when the sun shines
in the desert.

2. what about privacy within 10meter when there anyway is no
privacy within 100 meter??? (base station based
localization)

3. GPS is not rapid, except in the desert and with the
antenna in the right position, taped to the roof,
in the right position.
(OK, you wrote "as rapid as any system")

4. Don't you have steel enforced concrete floors
and tin roofs in US, Deks top computers
running at 1.6GHz??
(OK, you wrote "as any cell phone system", horizontally
polarized and acessible through windows, max distance
3-6 km)

Why a system which only works when it is not needed,
outdoors in rural, empty, interference free enviroment,
no possibility for the firebrigade to miss with 100-300
meter.

And in tough urban, indoor, cellar and appartment,
traffic situations it doesn't work anyway, except
if everyone holds the handset high out through
the window.

In the same enviroment where base stations are
dense and base stations and snaps and snips are
needed anyway??

Why is all US non-GSM operators sitting tight on their
waivers?? And the 40% 2W AMPS population out of luck
anyway??

The only one with the plan for a solution is the GSM
operators?? (I know, I know, AMPS is totally
out of luck, just waiving, and so is US-TDMA,
all those 30kHz bandwidths making delay measurements
impossible)

Ilmarinen

As soon as anyone can show me that I can put the
handset where Ruffian circulates and its
GPS receiver still will work, in the backseat
of a 2Mbps fast moving limo or exciting, exotic
restaurant, I'll shut up, handset in my
back pocket.

Iridium and G* was supposed to work, with that big
antenna, even under a tree???
