This is only true if you think the State should have the power to coercively confiscate wealth from individuals and then design redistribution programs headed up by self-proclaimed "experts" who will decide who gets what of the spoils. I believe in a truly free society (as the Founding Fathers envisioned - Hamilton be damned!) the State has no authority to establish such a punitive system which violates the inalienable rights of the individual. In almost every case the rights of the individual should outweigh the need of the State or the need of any other individual for that matter. Anything less is subversive to individual rights and will eventually lead to outright authoritarianism... the point when we all lose what modicum of rights we have remaining.
