Today George was commenting (actually, it sounded more like lamenting over) how TeraBeam was electing to 'play it safe' by promoting the use of their systems over distances of only several hundred meters, as opposed to taking the risk of promoting their use over longer ranges. I suppose his theory is that for the greater amount of time it would work just fine. It would only be that momentary storm, or that late afternoon sun scintillation over the highway pavement or desert, that might muddy things up causing errors or an outright, down'n'hard failure. What the heck. It's the Internet's way, right? I know. I know. Get over it.
