One can accept the possibility of all things, without thinking all things equally likely.
I think you have some trouble with this concept.

For example, I see no proof for extraterrestrials. Further I see absolutely no evidence that they are visiting are planet even IF they do exists somewhere. The possibility that they might exist somewhere in a huge universe seems pretty high to me- so the possibility seems likely. Although I can't possibly BELIEVE in them, because I've absolutely no proof as to whether they exist or not.

I also see no proof that ET's are visiting our planet. Although many people fervently believe they are, I see no good evidence, that cannot be explained in other more sensible ways, for their case. I think this possibility is much more unlikely than ET's existing anywhere in the universe.

Agnostics see no proof for God (at least the ones I know) and so they don't believe in God. They don't want to make the leap to believing in a negative, though. Just as there is no proof for God's existence there is no proof for God's non-existence. You can say the same thing about fairies or leprechauns- no proof that they exist (except lots of stories, and some anecdotal reports by people who claim to see them) and no proof that they don't.

I could make an assumption that ET's exist based on no data. I at least would have the anecdotal evidence of all those people who claim they do- you don't even have that. Can you see how what you believe may not seem very rational? At least it doesn't to me.
