Hi Cush and Tom:

Things are pretty quiet around here as everyone seems to be in watch and wait mode. AG now talking about how his moves of six months ago will now take effect and although he says it's stable he's mentioned inflation about ten times in the last 30 seconds.

About BCE, the widows and orphans stock, if you are pessimistic about the markets in general, this should be the very last canadian stock to tank, much like GE and IBM in the US. My hope is that it holds up. I don't know about breaking up though as that resistance is pretty strong. Time will tell. BTW does anyone know how the rates of weighting in the TSE300 have changed with Nortel's decline versus BCE holding it's own throught this period?

Otherwise haven't made a trade in over a month when I was stopped out of ELD and left me with nine positions. Unusual that over this length of time others have not shaken out.

Otherwise Cush and Shaw, I talked to Peter (Svenlar) last night and he tell's me he is finally willing to get out and swing the sticks again. Say's he's terrible and I can post it, but I know at one time he was pretty good (sub 100). Gotta get him out before he thinks the summer is over and he has to work to get ready to go back to school. Anyone else around the GTA interested maybe we could get a couple of foursomes. Please PM me with replies and pass it on to anyone else who you think might be interested.

Regards

Bob

Point of interest:

The Nikkei 500 dropped below 12,000 last night for only the second time in it's history.

In the unlikely event that anyone here is interested, there are two closed end funds trading on the NYSE which could provide interesting vehicles for playing the Japanese market in the event of a recovery (which has gotta happen some time).

Symbols are JEQ and JOF
