, 07/21 panic low

Whew! Glad Heinz scheduled that panic low on a Saturday, since I'll have Sunday to collect my thoughts and by the time the market opens on Monday I'll be fine.

yes, i think the low will come in tomorrow, not on Friday. if IBM lays an egg, it has a history of creating short term lows with bad earnings reports. the only other adjustment to my expectations is that it's obviously not a panic, but just part of a corrective looking decline. so i'm very likely to dump my puts tomorrow and await an entry point for September dated puts thereafter. right here and now the market is proving too resilient to get too excited about further downside potential imo, and the end-of-month autopilot money period draws closer.
it remains to be seen if the recent low in the SPX (1170) can be successfully tested on lower volume...that's a very important level since it's the starting point for the mid April rate cut rally, which was a heavy volume rally - so whether those positions become under water positions or not is probably decisive for the medium term outlook.
