Only when there is fertilization does a distinct human organism exist....... Oh? I hear the term "potential life" so much these days. New vocabulary for new ideas. Seems to me that the sands are shifting on this issue right now and will continue to shift as we learn more and more about creating human life. There are a lot of pro-lifers now that are saying it's not fertilization but attachment to the uterus so they can justify stem cell research. I don't have much interest in such fine distinctions, personally, so I'll watch and wait while the dust settles. Karen
