You said in another message "Java is irrelevant". It is not irrelevant to most enterprises, who are building up their internet infrastructure with J2EE. It is not irrelevant to Microsoft .NET, which has to compete head to head with J2EE.

My money is on Java, because of the multi-platform issues it doesn't have, which Windows has in excess as you correctly pointed out in your first post.
