Was privileged to attend a town hall meeting on energy policy led by Secretary of Energy, Abraham and Congresswoman, Judy Biggert. They were very knowlegable on a wide range of energy topics. They pointed out the shortfall in energy which we can expect over the next 20 years if nothing is done. The administration believes that over half the short-fall can be covered by conservation measures. Both presenters have seen hybrid auto demonstrations and are quite enthusiastic about their future use. The administration is favoring a multidisciplinary approach using all types of energy sources. Also looking heavily at ways to make the distribution of electricity more efficient. The Sierra Club folks who were there seemed blown away by the mastery of the subject and the approach the administration outlined. All in all, a good outing.
