ome day you'll become civilized. :o) Don't hold your breath. Civilizations invariably get overrun by the barbarians. We intend to do the overrunning, not be the overrunees. It was just a fabricated issue by the North to keep Europe from aiding the South. Not hardly true. It had been a smoldering issue for decades. Remember John Brown? Bleeding Kansas? That incident when one Senator beat another senseless in the Senate chamber? Do they think those were faked for their benefit? The bit of truth in that was that it apparently was not a high priority to Lincoln (if it was, he did an excellent job of hiding it.) And it is quite reasonable to believe he issued the Emancipation Proclamation to dissuade France and Britain from intervening. But that's as far as "totally bogus" goes.
