Petz,

My guess is that 845, in it's current state has the DDR support that is in very early stage, and the current stepping of the chipsets will never be qualified to support DDR. Real (debugged) DDR support will be in future revisions / stepings of 845,

Regarding SDRAM vs. RDRAM, I think once 845 is out, Intel will become neutral as far as memory is concerned, but will maintain some lip service to RDRAN, since right now, it is in intel's best interest to keep Rambus from going under, as long as Intel needs Rambus to maintain performance parity (edge in some cases) with Athlon.
