Dear Semiconeng: I thought that Paul was wrong many times before. His call on P4 was another such time. Intel implied that IPC would not suffer but, were wrong too! Later they admitted it would lose IPC but, that clock increases would make up for it. It turned out to be nearly a wash. Another idae that looked good on paper not measuring up in reality. I use his site for information but, not for his conclusions. Reporting facts is easy, taking those facts and seeing the correct situation is much harder. Pete
