I wish I'd had a son because I would have done what I could to talk to him about this very elemantary humanistic viewpoint. From my experience, a segment, but only a segment, of feminism is humanistic; other segments of it are quite not. The most prominent feminist in our community believes that men are inherently evil and that it is only the threat of jail that keeps them from raping every woman in sight. That's not an exaggeration, or not much of one.
