Dear Tench:

For a company that now uses shipments instead of sales to characterize a quarter, sells defective CPUs, chips and motherboards, releases before volumes appear, and states that unallocated expenses belong in other expenses instead of its own category, its credibility has suffered greatly. All these attributes were reprehensible according to them during 1999 and years prior. But like all else, they restate things every quarter even past performance. The truth doesn't alter over time. Credibility? Smaller and smaller with time.

Pete

Tenchusatsu, RE: Compared to a company who pulled Q3 sales into June and waited until top execs cashed out their options before warning, I'd say Intel's credibility is excellent.

Let's not lower the bar too far, now, OK?
