<<Ish, got a request from a lurker for more carp stories. Can you oblige? >>

Here's one that I saw with my own eyes.

Dale Hamm, who poached more ducks than you have seen, decided to hold a carp tournament in Bath, Illinois. Dale had driven to Chicago and bought a house boat, well the hull of a house boat. He hauled up a jon boat with a 20 horse motor and parked the truck and trailer on the hull. Towed that hull 150 miles on the river and parked it in the Bath Chute. He built a bar on it.

He had a carp tournament to get the business going. It was a $10 entry with all $$ going to first place. Now Dale wasn't a dummy even though he never got past the 6th grade. He started feeding corn off the back end of the bar. Time came for the tournament and 200 people roared off. Then Dale lit the fuse on the dynamite and was the winner before anyone got to thier favorite hole. Then he served scored carp sandwiches @ $1.50 and beer to get them down.

He tried to sell me Hogg Slough and I did some D&D and found it was owned by the state. When I mentioned this he got me a free breakfast. He never paid.
