12 months ago the economy was booming

No doubt about it, it was. And so what? I certainly wasn't angry about it. I just have realistic assessment of what caused it. And what didn't.

I didn't blame Carter for the horrible economic mess we were in when he left office. I didn't attribute the economic recovery totally to Reagan (although, unlike in the Clinton era, Reagan DID at least do some things that MAY have helped the economy -- you can't point to a single thing Clinton did that really had to do with economic improvement during his administration). I certainly didn't blame Bush for the economic downturn is his term, nor did I give him credit for the recovery that started under Bush and carried over into the Clinton's term.

The fact is the president typically has little to do with these economic cycles. While he may, in fact, affect the economy on the fringes, you don't get the kind of economy we had during the Clinton years because the president did something right.

Certainly, if you have a shred of intellectual honesty about you, you can admit this fact.

Scumbria, where are you? Did they put you back into SI jail, or you undercover? On behalf of the thread, we need to hear from you.
