i agree with that assessment. nothing goes without Egypt, and Egypt is more likely to think in terms of realpolitik than in reviving old grudges and take the risk to be humiliated again. nevertheless, one shouldn't underestimate the potential for an emotionally charged situation to get out of hand. the biggest danger is imo that the regimes of the Mid East oil producing operetta states are faced with growing internal instability in their own countries and decide to unite and support the Palestinian cause with more than just words and the occasional financial help. their weapon of course being oil. but that's a very long shot.
