Michael Hart - Re: Hedging with long plays

I am a short and will always be one.
Only reason I ever play longs at all is to hedge and reduce my risk.

"Short the Chumps and Buy the Champs" is my modo.

In my view the QQQ is not a champ and I refuse to hedge with it.
I cant bring myself to hedge with an investment that has a PE of 80 like the current QQQ.
I am pretty sure I can outperform the QQQ on my long plays.

You make a valid point "you seem to pick much better short trades than longs"
Last few weeks I been having problems finding long plays and the ones that I have found have not done that well.

That said, if you look back to April 28 I have had some pretty nice gainers on the long side overall.

But, make no mistake about it, shorting is my bread and butter.
